The cold months come with another problem some of us need to deal with. Some unfortunate souls need to deal with dry skin. It can be annoying at times and painful throughout the day, but here are a few tricks that will help you deal with your dry skin problems during winter.
Get a humidifier
If you see someone who has lived in a hot state their entire life their skin will look like the leather on your shoes. This happens because people live their life in a place where there is no moisture in the air. I know we’re talking about winter here, but the cold will still take the moisture out of your skin so you should invest in a humidifier. You can even sleep with it in your bedroom at night, but close the door so the air with all the moisture doesn’t escape.
Use a facial mask
When you’re sitting watching television at night you can throw on a facial mask and it will help you keep your skin moisturized. You don’t need to do this every night, but one or two times per week during the winter months always helps. Nowadays you don’t even need to buy expensive face masks from the shop because if you look online you’ll find plenty of recipes to make your own. It will hardly cost you anything even though it will work wonders on your skin.
Stay away from soaps
If you want to smell nice and fresh you need to wash on a daily basis, but you also need to be very careful about the soap you’re using. Some soaps can easily suck all the moisture out of your skin like a vampire. You can actually look for soaps made for dry skin and you won’t be left disappointed by the results. While we’re on the subject of cleaning, be careful if you love to lie in the bath soaking up all the bubbles because they can take the moisture out of your skin too.
Carry lip balm with you
If you’re wondering why your lips are always cracked during winter it’s because the lips lose moisture faster than any other body part. In fact, you will actually lose more moisture by licking them in the hope of keeping them nice and wet. The only solution is to carry lip balm around with you at all times otherwise you might end up in a lot of pain. You can get away with using a simple lip balm, but if you’re not worried about money you should go with a more expensive and better solution.
Dreaded cracked heels
There is nothing worse than serious foot pain, especially when you need to walk on your feet every day. When your heels are cracked the pain gets worse with every step you take. When you come home at night you should covers your heels in a nice, thick moisturizer and wrap your feet up in Saran wrap. Now stick on a thick pair of socks and let the moisturizer soak into your feet for a few hours. If you can do this a few times a week you’ll find it much easier to walk from now on.
